I have written multiple pieces about resumes in the past, and after a while, I thought the topic had been talked about so much that everyone definitely has a great resume, so write no more — but that is not the case.

On the other hand, I have a lot of friends that have been working for 2–4 years now (some more) and have not revamped their resumes in a while (you know yourselves), so here we go again, another article on resumes :) Let this be your nudge to revamp that resume if you haven’t recently (3–5 months)

While this piece is a nudge to revamp your resume, it is also for people writing new resumes who have never seen one of my old pieces or are confused about how to create a “stellar resume”. I have written a good number of resumes, mine included over the years, and I have seen many mistakes (including the ones I made). But through trial and error and multiple conversations with hiring managers and recruiters, I know more about resumes today than I did 2 years ago. With all the combined knowledge, I hope this article helps you get to that sweet spot where everyone can agree that your resume is outstanding!

With all that said, let’s get to it! Below I will cover what to do/include in your new or revamped resume and what not to do or include.
